We are a nonprofit company with "the goal of providing a safe, productive environment for differently abled adults to forge their own way through life with purpose and dignity."
One of the greatest challenges facing the families of differently abled children is the same as that facing any other parent; how will my kids continue their quality of life after leaving home (can they leave home)? Specifically kids who are challenged with motor skill deficiencies that, while their intellectual skills are not lacking, their ability to interact with their environment is different than others. Until recently, these children had only 'warehousing' to look forward to as they entered adulthood. Parents, who have already pushed themselves to physical, emotional and financial extremes have only decades of further challenges ahead. What is frustrating is that these aren't 'stupid' kids! In many cases they are cognitively average or even above average; they just have difficulty interacting with their environment. Children and Parents of these children need an option.
A serial entrepreneur and extremely successful sales executive, Scottie Jack knew there had to be an answer for helping his twins, Kai and Noe, navigate a fulfilled adulthood on their own terms without having to resort to charity. Thus was born the idea behind the Kai Noe Foundation:
"The Kai Noe Foundation has the goal of providing a safe, productive environment for differently abled adults to forge their own way through life with purpose and dignity."
While current goals are modest (sustainable housing and physical support), the longer term goals are securing an actual live in campus with education, support and housing for an ever increasing community of mutually supporting, productive adults.
